SAAB: Science & Advisory Board

From fashion model to star of her own TV series, UNC professor and USAF consultant, Dr. Robbie is always with us through her works and the NetPlaces Network SAAB.

Dr. Roberta Lee, D.D., Ph.D., N.D.

Dr. Lee began her professional education in Santa Rosa, California in 1957 with studies in psychology, sociology, and religion. She holds four doctorate degrees including Doctor Of Divinity (CA) and Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine awarded in 1980 from Brantridge Forest School, England.

In order to finance her educational pursuits, Dr. Lee worked as a high fashion photography model and briefly, as publicist for the human society.

"Dr. Robbie" was dedicated to the principals of rejuvenation techniques; all of which she wove intricately through her writings, lectures and TV shows and which she applied in no small way to the care of her animals.

While in private practice Dr. Lee produced vital research for professional periodicals. She also hosted radio and television programs that explored the then-broadening connection between beliefs, behavior and health. Her work in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Southern California led to the development of behavioral modification techniques for children suffering from emotional problems.

In fact, due to the success of her UNSC program, Dr. Lee accepted an offer to work with the U.S. Air Force in behavioral modification studies. She also became Special Consultant to the United States Army in studies relating to Kirlian Photography and stress-induced situations.

"Dr. Robbie" loved animals and generously contributed her professional expertise to TheDogPlace.org.  She recognized the emotional benefits provided by dogs long before there were "therapy dogs." Her best friend and companion was a female Doberman Pinscher, her constant companion.

Below is a partial list of Robbie's professional achievements. TheDogPlace.org was immeasurably honored to welcome Dr. Roberta Lee to the NetPlaces Network Science and Advisory Board in 2002.

Dr. Lee moved from Atlanta back to California where she died from intestinal cancer in 2015. The irony is not lost on those of us who loved her but even in her very last day, Robbie assured me she was at peace and unafraid of a "future life" in which she so deeply believed. Her work lives on in the lessons she shared with millions of people through the NetPlaces Network.

God Bless you Robbie. You blessed all who knew you.
